The Blue Heart Of Europe Awaits...

What Else Is There To Do?

White Water Rafting:

The Una and Sana Rivers deliver some of the best white-water rafting in the Balkans — clear turquoise water, fun Class II–IV rapids, waterfalls and wooded canyons. Most full-day trips (3–5 hours on the water) cost around 40-€65 per person for groups of 6 or more, including guides, gear, transport and insurance. Smaller groups (2–5 people) can usually be arranged for €75–€90 pp — just contact the operator in advance. Popular outfits run from Bihać or Kulen Vakuf daily between May and October.     Fun for all the Family ages from 5+

Wild River Swimming:

The Rivers here perfect for a refreshing dip on warm summer days — the clear, cool karst water stays crisp even in July and August. There are several gentle gravel shallows and deeper pools, safe for swimming when the flows are moderate (usually May–September). Locals and guests often cool off after fishing or just float in the current on hot afternoons. Always check the river levels first — they can rise quickly after rain — but in normal conditions it’s a beautiful, natural scene to rinse off or relax in the water.

The Sanica River is surprisingly good for stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) during the warmer months (May–September), thanks to its calm, clear stretches and gentle current in the middle and lower sections. Gravel shallows and deeper pools that make it easy to paddle and spot fish below. It's a relaxing way to explore the river, take photos, or cool off after fishing — no rapids, just peaceful floating with mountain and forest views. *Villa Thymallus Has 2 rental boards (€15/day each)* or bring your own if you have space. Best spots on Sanica are the slower, wider parts further into and beyond the canyon. Always check water levels first, in normal summer conditions it's a safe, scenic add-on to any stay.                         Use of rental boards is at your own risk — waiver required.

Stand Up Paddleboarding:

Hiking:

Grmeč Nature Park (~200 km²) is right on your doorstep — rolling plateaus, beech and fir forests, ridgelines and panoramic views. Easy to moderate trails (e.g., around 5–15 km loops) start on the village edge or take 20–40 minutes drive further into the centre of the park. Spring and autumn are best; summer can be hot, winter snowy.
